Could we 3D print a lunar base?

ESL news-based lesson plan

Lesson Overview

This ESL lesson on “3D printing a lunar base” is part of our space and space exploration series. In this lesson, students will watch a video and learn what it would take to 3D print a structure on the moon.

You can also teach this lesson with our article-based lesson on “How to build a moon base“.

It focuses on practising vital listening, speaking, collaboration and critical thinking skills.  You will need at least 90 minutes to complete this lesson if used as a flipped ESL lesson. However, lessons can run up to 3 hours ( consider two  90-minute lessons or for university teachers to adjust as needed).

While targeting intermediate and upper-intermediate language learners of English, it is highly adaptable as it has been purposely designed to facilitate mixed-levelled classes. This includes targeting professionals in a tertiary institution such as a university or professional environment.
