Lesson Overview
This ESL lesson plan deals with the theme of food sustainability. To satisfy the increasing demand for food by the growing human population, cultured meat is presented as a good alternative to killing animals. Students will learn about the arguments and counterarguments for cultured meat.
It focuses on practising key reading, speaking, collaboration and critical thinking skills. If used as a flipped ESL lesson, you will need at least 90 minutes to complete this lesson. However, lesson can run up to 3 hours ( consider two 90-minute lessons or for university teachers to adjust as needed).
While targeting intermediate and upper-intermediate English language learners, it is highly adaptable as it has been purposely designed to facilitate mixed-level classes. This includes targeting professionals in a tertiary institution such as a university or within a professional environment.
